Erik Petrus Architects is an international architectural studio based in Prague, led by architect, urbanist, and theorist Erik Petrus. The studio operates both in the Czech Republic and Indonesia, designing projects across a wide range of scales—from meticulously crafted interiors to large-scale urban developments. Its portfolio includes residential, commercial, cultural, public, and sacred buildings.

The studio creates architecture with a strong atmosphere and emotional depth. Its designs are rooted in a unique concept and a deep respect for the local context. They are characterized by an original formal expression and a thoughtful approach to geometry, light, and natural materials. Each project is developed individually to precisely respond to its site, function, and the client’s vision.

The studio’s work is defined by a synthesis of European architectural tradition with approaches from Southeast Asia, which bring a sensitive integration into the local environment, a careful response to the tropical climate, traditional building principles, and a deep respect for local culture. This inspiration is also reflected in projects realized in Europe, where the studio creates works with a distinctive authorial signature—based on harmony between interior and exterior, and on the dramatic use of geometry, light, materials, and spatial atmosphere.

The practice places great emphasis on natural and sensorially rich materials—exotic woods, marble, travertine, stone, concrete, and brick—and on creating compelling spaces that evoke emotion. Geometry serves as the main organizational principle of the designs, which always emerge in response to the specific context of a given place. Each project is an original that cannot simply be transferred to another environment.

The studio is founded on the strong theoretical and research background of its founder.
